Hey girls! I often read the daily devotions from My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers. Todays was SO good, and SO full of conviction and truth. I wanted to share it with you girls as well. May we learn to be disciples of the Lord and really walk in truth in a way that sets us apart for His Kingdom.

Deserter or Disciple?
From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more —John 6:66
When God, by His Spirit through His Word, gives you a clear vision of His will, you must “walk in the light” of that vision (1 John 1:7). Even though your mind and soul may be thrilled by it, if you don’t “walk in the light” of it you will sink to a level of bondage never envisioned by our Lord. Mentally disobeying the “heavenly vision” (Acts 26:19) will make you a slave to ideas and views that are completely foreign to Jesus Christ. Don’t look at someone else and say, “Well, if he can have those views and prosper, why can’t I?” You have to “walk in the light” of the vision that has been given to you. Don’t compare yourself with others or judge them— that is between God and them. When you find that one of your favorite and strongly held views clashes with the “heavenly vision,” do not begin to debate it. If you do, a sense of property and personal right will emerge in you— things on which Jesus placed no value. He was against these things as being the root of everything foreign to Himself— “. . . for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Luke 12:15). If we don’t see and understand this, it is because we are ignoring the underlying principles of our Lord’s teaching.
Our tendency is to lie back and bask in the memory of the wonderful experience we had when God revealed His will to us. But if a New Testament standard is revealed to us by the light of God, and we don’t try to measure up, or even feel inclined to do so, then we begin to backslide. It means your conscience does not respond to the truth. You can never be the same after the unveiling of a truth. That moment marks you as one who either continues on with even more devotion as a disciple of Jesus Christ, or as one who turns to go back as a deserter.
Merry Christmas Eve to all my wonderful ladies! I pray today as we continue the celebration of the birth of our Savior that we would be filled to the measure of the fullness of God and that the Holy Spirit would really press into our hearts the weight of this occasion.

My pastor said this on Sunday and I thought I would share with you
Jesus was born in a borrowed stable Preached from a borrowed boat Fed multiples with borrowed fish Road into Jerusalem on a borrowed donkey Had Passover in a borrowed home And Was buried in a buried tomb
“Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; Who walk to go down to Egypt, and have not asked My advice.” To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and trust in the shadow of Egypt shall be your humiliation.” (vs. 1-3)
Lord, forgive me for acting similar to these men. The Lord was speaking to a nation who wanted nothing to do with Him. They were no longer faithful children who looked to GOD for their direction. Instead they walked in their own wisdom and trusted the strength of Egypt.
When we as Gods children walk in our own ways, we grieve God. God calls them foolish children, they were irritated when the prophets tried to tell them about God. Does that sound familiar today? We want God out of our country. As we see in Isaiah when we ask God to leave, He will. But the outcome will not be good.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD and in His law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2).
Israel’s trust was in Egypt. But Egypt was no help, God called their efforts idle (Rahab-Hem-Shebeth). (vs. 7) Who made man? Who established the earth? Created the galaxies? Who gave you your very breath? This is the GOD who you are choosing to battle. How will you ever be victorious against God?
Before God begins speaking to them on what will happen if they choose to trust Egypt instead of Him, God tells them to write down what He is about to say (vs. 8). He is like a father who is making sure they know what they are choosing. They will have in their record, that they did not want God and know that they chose to sin after God had warned them not to. Just as our nation will be able to look back in our history books and see where we voted and passed laws to take God out of our schools, government, and work places.
God starts off by describing the spiritual state of His people: “These people are rebellious lying children who will not hear My Word.” (vs. 9) They are asking people not to tell them what is right, they are asking to be lied to. They do not want to know what I am saying to them. (Verse 10) You ask me to leave your community. (vs. 11)
Then God responds to their sin: Because you hate my word and trust in false Gods (v 13) you will be broken in pieces like a broken piece of pottery that has no use. (vs. 14) Your people will be afraid and flee and your nation will be left like a tree stripped of its branches. (vs. 17)
That is not a promise that I would want God to keep. Your nation will be like a tree stripped of its branches! Why after so much warning do we choose to sin? It grieves God, separates us from God, and removes God’s blessing from our lives. I am so humbled that no matter how many times I sin God takes me back.
When this disobedient nation turns from their sin and cries out to God He hears them. “God is so faithful to hear our cries (vs. 19) redeem us, though he provided us with warning against our sin and we continued in it, He is gracious to buy us back.”
Though sin leaves us broken and useless God pays the highest price to bring us back into a right relationship with Him. He can restore our broken lives and make beauty from our ashes.
“But now oh LORD You are the father; we are the clay, and You our potter. And all we are the work of Your hand. Do not be furious oh LORD, or remember iniquity forever’; indeed, please look- we are Your people.” (Isaiah 64:8-9)
“Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are those who wait for Him.” (vs. 18)
After this nation turns from their sin, they ask the prophets to teach them Gods truths. They no longer want to be lied to. “You will ask your teachers to show you truth (vs. 20-21), you will be shown the right way to walk. You will also turn away from your sin and turn from your idols (vs. 22).
And then the Lord will bless your land and make you fruitful.” (vs. 23-25)
“In the day that the LORD binds up the bruise of HIS people and heals the stroke of their wounds.(vs. 26) “The eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will listen. Also the heart of the rash will understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly. (Isaiah 32:3)
“My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,.” (Isaiah 32:18)

GOD I pray, LORD that you would give us eyes to see You and ears to hear You. God I pray that we would cling to You, father. Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another village. He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
He never owned a home. He never wrote a book. He never held an office. He never had a family. He never went to college. He never put His foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself...
While still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against him. His friends ran away. One of them denied Him. He was turned over to His enemies. He went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves. While He was dying His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had on earth – His coat. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.
Nineteen long centuries have come and gone, and today He is a centerpiece of the human race and leader of the column of progress.
I am far within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that were ever built; all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has that one solitary life.
(This was read at my grandma's sunday school class last week at church and I had never heard it before. I am sure some of you have, but I thought it was SO powerful. May we remember to keep our eyes focused on the true celebration of this Christmas season, a celebration of the birth of one solitary life, our Savior, Jesus Christ)
Hi girls!! Look who it is... ME! Yikes, I was even having a hard time logging in because I momentarily forgot what our password and login was.... but I figured it out :)
I wanted to share with you girls what I was reading last week, and what stuck with me. My bible study did a fast the Thursday before Thanksgiving, and we were told to read Philippians 4:2-9 five times and really try to see and understand what God may be trying to tell us. I was ecstatic because Philippians 4:6-7 is my ultimate favorite verse! It is the most powerful and effective verse to me no matter where I'm at in life. If I'm stressed, anxious, confused, happy, grateful, etc, it is an amazing 2 verses. But this isn't what I learned. I saw and read something new in the second part of verse 4:9:
"And the God of peace will be with you."
We have heard this, right? The "God of peace." And I often pray for peace in my heart and mind when I'm especially anxious. But what is peace? I always associated peace with happy thoughts or having life run smoothly, with no problems or altercations. Except, this isn't what peace really is, if you see it in God's terms. True peace is fully knowing, acknowledging and believing that God is in control, no matter what the circumstance may be. Your life could be absolutely upside down, but if you have the faith and belief that our Lord is in control of it, you WILL be at peace. Peace is not what I always thought it was: the absence of problems or stress, and it is not gained by just thinking good thoughts. It's to truly realize that our Creator knows our lives and that He is ultimately in control, no matter what it may seem.
Today marks the first day of Advent. Advent is a word I grew up hearing a lot as a child because to me it meant chocolate. I got an advent calendar every year and got to eat that little mystery shaped chocolate behind the door every day. Not until this year did the word advent have more depth to me.
Advent is a world that means "coming" or "arrival." In the 4 weeks of Advent leading up to Christmas we celebrate both the season of the arrival of Jesus Christ in a manger 2000 years ago, as well as the coming of Christ again. It is two fold celebration for us as Christians because we celebrate not only what has happened already but also the coming of the Lord again. As we wait expectantly for the second coming we are reminded of what it was like for the Hebrews as they waited for the prophecy to be fulfilled in the Messiah, Christ's birth.
Traditionally, there is an advent wreath that contains 4 candles. Originally 3 of these candles are purple to represent the royalty of Christ, and the 4th is pink which represents joy. Today, being the first week of advent, you light the first candle, which represents hope. We start the celebration of advent being reminded of the hope we have in Our Savior because He already came and died for our sins so we can spend eternity with Him, as well as hope that He will return again for us.
I pray this Christmas season we could really dig into the spirit of advent, preparing not just for Christmas as a time of food, family, and presents, but to remember that this is when our lives changed forever. This time reminds us of the day God allowed a sinful, fleshly body to labor a divine child. This event marked a day of hope and deliverance, as well as confirmed confidence in a God who keeps His promises, even if it means coming Himself in flesh.
Miqweh Yisrael, you are our God of hope and in you we find confidence that we have been redeemed. I thank you for the season that we get to reflect and rejoice remembering the coming of your son, Jesus. Immanuel, I pray you would invade our hearts and press into us reminding us of the sacrifice you gave to assure us hope in you. Thank you for being our Savior. Thank you for coming in the flesh, so we could be saved by your grace. We wait for you Lord, with open and expectant hearts knowing your timing is perfect. May we be filled with more of you this Christmas season and may we grow deeper spiritually than we ever have before. We love you so much. In your precious Name, Amen.
Titus 2:13 "We wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ"
Today as I celebrate Thanksgiving my heart is completely overwhelmed by the truth that we have NO good thing besides the Him, the One who has given it all to us and abundantly poured out His blessings on our lives.
I woke up today and had this verse in my head from Psalm 100: "Enter His gates with Thanksgiving, and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His Name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues throughout all generations" - Psalm 100:4-5
We are so undeserving of the blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon our lives, but today we give thanks and remember the loving covenant Yahweh made with His children, the redeeming sacrifice that the Precious Lamb of God gave to us on calvary, and the thick invasion of the Holy Spirit who loves us enough to dwell in our hearts as His home and refine us to be vessels for His work.
Today, I also give thanks on my knees for you girls and how each one of you has enriched my understanding of the Living God in ways I could never repay you for. To you all I say THANK YOU to for being such incredible sisters in Christ and walking this life with me. Thank you for holding my hand through hard stuff, for praying for me and the people in my life, for extending grace when it was not deserved, for encouraging me through every season, for rejoicing with me in times of joy, and most of all for always pointing me to the cross to a deeper understanding of Our Abba Father. I pray blessing would return to you girls one hundred fold for all you have done for me. I cannot thank you guys enough for what loving, powerful, God fearing woman you have been in my life. Today I give thanks for EACH one of you and how your lives have so deeply blessed mine.
Lord, I praise you from the depths of my soul for the work you have done in and through us this last year. God your grace has covered us in ways which we could not ever comprehend. We stand before you with grateful hearts today knowing full well that everything good in our lives comes from You. We have NO good thing besides you. I praise you God for these girls and how you have used them to push me to fall deeper in love with you. I ask that you would continue to bless these friendships and that your Holy Spirit would invoke a deep hunger for more of You in our lives. May we always remember to come before you with a Spirit of thanks and a grateful heart for all your work in us. If your grace was the only gift we would ever receive, that alone would be enough. You have given far beyond what we deserve, and we stand before you and thank you for all you have poured out on our lives. We praise you God for loving us unconditionally and showing us what it looks like to reflect you. Thank you for all that we have all that we are. It is only by your grace. We love you. Amen.
Mathew 6:7-13 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, fr they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your father knows what you need before you ask him. This, then, is how you should pray:
"Our Father in heaven hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
"Give us this day our daily bread." Wow, that line has a whole new meaning to David and I right now at this time in our lives. We literally thank God everyday for providing us with our "daily bread". Finances are very tight right now that it is not an option to look ahead to the end of the month, the end of the week, sometimes even the end of the day. There are times the money just isn't there and we don't know what we are going to do and yet day after day after day God is providing for our daily needs. David's free internship randomly decided to give him a Christmas bonus last week, right before rent was due! We have had random people who do not even know we are tight on finances send us a check saying I felt led to give this to you. My old boss just found a research job she needs me to do from home that pays! Everyday God is giving us literally just enough to buy for that day, whether it be groceries, my medicine, or rent for that day, these checks are coming on the exact day we have something due.
It has been an amazing place to be in, to be literally 100% dependent on God. To go to bed knowing rent is due tomorrow and knowing we don't have it in our account...David and I have read these verses over and over and that is our prayer every night, we know God knows what we need before we ask him and we know he has been faithful to provide in the past and will be faithful to provide today. And everyday he has. It has NOT been easy but there has been something really beautiful about being in such a place of dependency on God. He has been humbling us and working on our hearts so much and uniting David and I together in our faith.
As I was thinking about these verses the other night I realized "Give us this day our daily bread" does not literally have to mean "provide tangible food for us" it can be any area in our lives we are struggling. If you are struggling with anxiety, what to do with your future, what job to get, who to marry, where to live, how to overcome a huge obstacle, whatever the problem, I encourage each of you to pray this prayer with all your heart and watch how God will step in and provide for you. Let God be your daily bread. If it's too scary to look ahead to the end of the week and makes you anxious, then don't don't even look to the end of the day. Look to God and expect with faith that God is going to get you through this day and fill you with HIS perfect peace. I know we all know we are supposed to give our worries over to God, blah blah blah...but seriously just do it! No more excuses! No more saying you can have this area of my life but not this part. How can we expect to see God's miracles and feel his peace if we don't give everything over to him?
I was in a place where I was so stubborn that God literally had to FORCE me here haha I don't have a choice right now to give it over to him or not to. There is nothing left for me to hold onto! I have no way of providing for myself so God will. I wish I had not been so stubborn and would have given my heart and fears completely over to God sooner but he knew the only way to make me really see was to completely strip me of everything and humble me. And I am so thankful he has!
I am praying this prayer over each of you ladies today. I am praying we give our fears, hearts, sins, finances, lives, everything over to God and watch him provide day after day after day just how we need. God has not forgotten us ladies! In fact, I have never felt closer to mine and David's life than right now. We have no jobs, no money, a baby on the way, by the worlds standards, he has forgotten for us and not provided. But we know that God loves me and David so much that he has not given up on our hearts. He is doing whatever to takes to humble us and make us dependent on him. I thank him everyday for choosing us and not giving up on us. He has never been closer to our hearts than now and for that I am so thankful! I love each one of you and pray you can release whatever it is holding you back from giving everything up to God right now.
I was driving yesterday when a huge Pepsi truck pulled out in front of me. Ever get super annoyed that YOU have to be the one behind the semi? There was no way around and I couldnt see anything in front of me. I was already running late so with the anticipation of every stop light, I was totally annoyed. I kept straining my neck to try to look over the truck or around it, as if 2 inches were going to get me 12 feet above or around this truck, yet no luck.
I thought about what I was doing I thought to myself, "Really Natalie, what difference does it make if you can see where you are going. It isnt going to change whether you stop or go at each light. Just follow the truck. Its gonna tell you what you need to do."
I instantly was reminded by God, this is the story of my life. Here is God SO much bigger than I, ahead of me and I am always trying to see around or ahead of Him. I just wanna be in control. If I can see, I think I have it all under control. The thing is though, is if I just follow Him and trust He is gonna lead me, I can relax and knowing He will make the best decisions for my life. I was totally challenged by this big semi, being a physical representation of a role God's plays in my life. It was just a good reminder to remember that we dont need to see and know everything in our life. We dont need to know right now what is lying ahead of us, because God can see it and He will lead us there when the time is right. Until then, I will follow obediently and confidently knowing Our God is the wisest driver on our road of life :)
I just got Chris Tomlin's new CD " And If God is for Us" It is SO good and this song " I will follow you" totally goes in line with what the Lord was teaching me. I love the words to this song. I pray you guys are blessed.

I wanted to share a link with you. My friend Tiffany is on the World Race (an around the world missions trip), and her blog BLOWS MY MIND! Its incredible to see how God is moving on this trip and how often we close ourselves off to the rest of the broken world because we are too busy with our own lives. I encourage you to read at least one of her blog entries.(Believe me you wont stop at one) You will see in her beautiful writing a God fearing woman who is deeply in love with the Lord and who's only desire is to bring His love to the world through whatever means necessary. There is some pretty intense stuff on this blog, but I think we could all benefit from reading it. God is moving. All the time. It is so cool to be reminded that He is the Father of all the children of the world, and He desires His children's love so so deeply.
I pray you guys are blessed by this blog like I have been. And please, keep Tiffany in your prayers as she fights for God's Name to be lifted high in all these broken and desperate countries. THANK YOU!
2 Chronicles 16:9 "For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him."
This verse really stuck out to me in my reading today. I constantly pray for God's strength and wisdom and direction but too many times I forget the step before that...keeping my heart fully committed to God. I know that God is calling me to focus more on Him and less on what he can do for me. Short post but that's all I have to say! I'm gonna let the verse talk for itself! Praying over all of us girls today that our hearts are united with the LORD and FULLY committed to Him. Love each one of you precious ladies so much! Love Megs and Baby Boy
I wanted to share this video with you girls. These girls I found on Youtube and it was SO the Lord who brought me to them. I may be there biggest fan. The way the praise the Lord with their incredible voices just kills me. Its SO overwhelmingly beautiful! If something can sound this good on earth, I cant even imagine what heaven will sound like. You should watch all their videos. They ALL bring me to tears and to my knees. You will be so blessed to worship with them.

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31
In my daily life I often find it hard to glorify God doing small mundane things. I have no problem if I am sitting reading my bible.
But as soon as I get up from my devotions, I seem to lose the intimacy that I felt with the LORD earlier.
By the end of the day my devotional time is a distant memory. I often go to bed feeling like I have not spent time with God. Does this ever happen to you?
We have to work, grocery shop, clean, drive, go to meetings, etc. But we are also told to do everything for the glory of God. How can we live our lives while at the same time worshiping?
I heard a story recently about how a person spent the best times of worship at a copy machine? Do you feel lost? So did I. The person went on to say, that as he would make copies he would pray and talk with God.
Talk about doing everything for the glory of God! I desire to be that person, someone who is always worshiping God.
I love that in this scripture it says, “Whether you eat or drink.” It is talking about the mundane things of life here, it is not saying don’t do these things, instead it says while you do these things, “Glorify God!”
Worship: A natural tendency of every man’s heart. Worship is the expression of the desires of your heart. We worship what we value, what is important, what we love. Worship is never ending, you are always worshiping because you were created to worship. God is the only one who deserves or is worthy of our worship.
“I will praise you, LORD my GOD, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12
Prayer: God I pray that you would enrapture us in your perfect love. Let everything that we do in our daily lives lead us to a deeper connection with You. Forgive us for not always glorifying you in our words or actions. God I pray that you would captivate our hearts. Let us not go astray, protect us and keep us close to You. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen!

When I was in South Africa I learned about a philosophy taught by Nelson Mandela called, Ubuntu. It is an African term which essentially means “I am because of who we all are” It’s a term used to describe community, respect, peace, love for one another. When I learned about this then I never realized how close this fits in with the gospel. We are a part of the body of Christ, but we cannot work alone. It is through unity in Christ we are able to come together in the name of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 12:12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by[c] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
God chose each one of us as an individual to be a representation of His Name and His love in our lives, but we are a part of the church as a whole. It is through our own God given ministries in life that we are able to work together to win lives for the kingdom of God and teach others about the love of Christ. We all have people the Lord put in our lives to expose truth to. Are we doing this? Are we representing the gospel? Living life with Ubuntu in mind?
In the scripture above it say in verse 3 “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” Those words “make every effort” is translated in Greek as “ Spegatso.” Spegatso means “do whatever it takes,” “by all means”, “whatever the cost”. I know in my own life, I don’t go all the way very often because I am hindered by my own insecurities, fear, laziness, etc. I can think of a thousands reasons. But God calls us to make EVERY effort, to share His love, to share His peace, to share His Word, so that we fulfill our calling as Christ followers.
Girls, even in our relationships with one another, we are who we are because of what we are together. We learn from one another. We experience God in new ways because of how each other has seen or experienced God. We are a body. We need to be working together at all times, growing in the same direction. We are so blessed to fellowship to grow in.
As Nelson Mandela says in the video, when a person comes in the village for food and water, once he stops, he doesn’t have to ask for food and water, the people just give him food and water.
The same should be in our lives. We are given this gift of salvation. People in our lives should not have to ask for it. It should be the first thing we offer in and through our lives when we come in contact with others. It is a high calling to be a Christ follower, and its comfortable and not easy at times, but I desire to know what the fullness of the measure of God is like and through following Him we get to experience that. So its all worth it.
Lord, we praise you for you are the perfect example of love. We desire to walk in your ways and practice “spegatso” taking every means necessary to follow your will and take opportunities to share the gospel. Give us the hearts to serve you and be boldly proclaiming your name. May we be convicted individually, to pour out on to the whole body, encouragement and motivation to expand your Kingdom. It is in you and through you we are whole. You are the only way Jesus and we acknowledge that today knowing you are the one we desire to reflect. We love you, give us opportunity and a heart to lead others to your Name. Amen.

God has really been placing these verses on mine and David's hearts through this period of job searching and finances. I just love how he tells us that we are sinners and evil yet we know how to give gifts and love to those we love, so why would we ever doubt that our God and Father, who loves us more than we know, would not take care us! It may not be the way we have planned or how we thought we want, but we are finding comfort in knowing God knows JUST what we need and how to take care of us! He will not give us a stone instead of bread! Hope these verses speak to you ladies in your lives right now. God is so good and so faithful! Love you all, Megs and Baby B!
We have all heard the song "Refiners Fire" - purify my heart, let me be as gold and precious silver. I have sang it a million times and not until the other day while reading my devotional did I understand why we were compared to the refinement of silver and gold.
Malachi 3:3 "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; He will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver"
"As silver and gold need to be refined before they reveal their beauty, so do we. The process of refining includes the melting down of the metal by fires designed not to destroy the metal, but to bring forth its beauty.
The silver is crushed into small pieces and placed into a crucible. The silversmith places the crucible over the fire then watches carefully as the silver melts. Eventually, impurities rise to the top of the crucible. The silversmith scrapes them off carefully. Then a hotter fire is built. Again, the silver is subjected to more heat. Under intense firing, more and more different impurities are released.
The silversmith never leaves the silver unattended in the fire because too much heat may damage the silver. Each time the fire is amplified and impurities removed, the silversmith looks at himself in the melted silver.
At first his image is dim. However, with each new fire his image becomes clearer. When he visibly sees himself, he knows all the impurities are gone. The refining is complete!"
The same things happens with our relationship with the Lord. His goal is NOT to destroy us but to stretch and refine us. We are put in the fire so our impurities will be exposed so we can reflect our Maker! Praise the Lord He loves us enough to refine us! Sometimes in this process we can feel overwhelmed being in the fire. But it is in fire we are challenged to rely on Christ. It is in the fire we are tested. It is in the fire our faith is grown. Its refinement as its best.
1 Peter 1:6-8 says "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy."
Lord, may you refine us like silver and gold until we reflect your image. Thank you for never taking you eyes off of us until the process is complete. We acknowledge today that we trust you in every circumstance that we are put in knowing that it is all part of the story you have written for us. I ask that we would remember that the joy of the Lord is our strength, even when we are burning in the fire. Help us to be reminded that your love burns so deep for us and that in all things you work for the good of those who love you. I praise you that you love us enough to refine us and that you desire our hearts to reflect yours. May we be aware of the refinement you are doing in our lives today and obediently walk down the path where you desire to lead us. We love you Abba.

Death is the hardest thing for us to face. I believe in some ways it is even harder for Christians to deal with death. We know that GOD is in complete control, so He has to allow death. This is a very hard concept to grasp. But we know that Gods purposes are always perfect even though they may be hard for us to understand. It was through death, that salvation of the entire world came. Through the death of Gods only Son we are forgiven. Though Jesus’ death was gruesome and painful, and though Jesus’ family and disciples were grieved with His loss. God used Jesus’ death to save the entire world.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you.” Jeremiah 31:3
My Cousin died over seven years ago, she was seventeen and my family fell apart. My parents divorced and my extended family was split by grief. Through this terrible time in my life, I could do nothing else but cry out to the LORD. Through her death I learned the Love, Grace and Peace of God and my life has never been the same. God promised that He would love her, and I promised to follow Him. All these years later God is still using her death to bring my family to know the LORD. If anyone was to ask me, I would rather that she would be alive, but the truth is she is more alive now than she ever was on earth. God is being glorified and people are coming to know Him.
“And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, no more sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Revelation 21: 3-5
For those of us who have known a follower of Jesus who has died, we still mourn, we still experience sadness and we still ask why? But we can take comfort in the fact that we know they are in heaven and that is a precious gift that God gives us.
Prayer: LORD thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you that you truly give peace that passes understanding. Be with those who mourn, bring comfort and in all things be glorified. Help us to not look for answers in times of tragedy but instead look to You. Thank you Lord for the work that you are doing in my family, God please help them to know You! Amen
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. St Clair! Missy, you were a STUNNING Bride and your wedding was just absolutely GORGEOUS! The day was a dream. Your smile we could see from a mile away and it lit up the whole room! James and you are the perfect couple and I know the Lord has completely prepared your hearts for marriage. God is just so powerful &faithful! Every time I open my bible it always opens to Psalm 105. Like every time, I will be using my moms bible, my grandmas, davids, mine, no matter what bible, I just open it &my eyes go to the first thing on there, Psalm 105. Its SO cool!
I love the beginning of psalm 105 b/c I was really struggling with how am I supposed to pray? Do I ask for things, do I thank him, it just didn't seem like enough or that I was doing it right. It got to where I would just say "god I don't know what to say..." Then he started showing me psalm 105 over and over and over and over!
It says: "Give thanks to the LORD call on his name"- I thought, OK I can do that... So I do start giving thanks to the Lord... "Sing to him, sing praise to him" -so I close my eyes and start singing praises to God, whatever song is on my heart.
"tell of all his wonderful acts." So I start praising God and telling him all of the wonderful things he has done, all his wonderful traits...and so on...
"Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice"- rejoice in the LORD! Give God glory!
"Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always." Continue praying and praising and meditating on this throughout my day...
These verses are literally telling me exactly how to pray! In a step by step process: 1) give thanks 2) sing praise to him 3) tell of all his wonderful acts 4) rejoice in the LORD 5)seek his face ALWAYS...
God gave me the exact words I needed to regain confidence in praying to Him. I just start out following these steps and it's just so powerful and amazing! I am not kidding when I say EVERY TIME I open my bible, it is here, and I don't have it bookmarked to naturally fall open. So today I finish reading through Psalm 105 and praying this prayer... I decide to go back to 1 Chronicles where I am and continue reading there, I start where I left off, and guess what it is...
1 Chronicles 16:7
"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make know among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always...."
WORD FOR WORD the exact same verses as in psalm 105!!! God is clearly showing me that these words and praises are so important! Everywhere I turn I see them! Wow! I am just so blown away by God's faithfulness! Thank you Lord for showing me this again and again and teaching me how to praise you! I love you and praise you! Amen!

God has totally been pressing into me that He is the God of Hope. In Him we find rest and we know that tomorrow will bring new mercies. He lead me to this scripture yesterday that blew my mind and I wanted to share to encourage you guys:
Lamentations 3:21-26
" Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD's great love we
are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself. "the LORD is my portion.
therefore I will wait for Him.

I love the part where it says we are NOT CONSUMED because His compassions never fail. He is a God of HOPE and He will never walk away and above that promises to always carry us through.
I pray Lord that we would trust in your unfailing love and be reminded that we will not be consumed by the worries of this life or this world because you are a God of Hope. You never fail and there is nothing that is too big for you to handle. May your Spirit invade as we seek your first in all things knowing that you bring life and hope to us when we draw near to you. Thank you for being our God, who knows our hearts and who carries our yoke. You are SO faithful and SO good to us God. We dont deserve your love. We trust in you Miqweh Yisrael knowing you are the God of Hope.

This story is about a man named Omar and how he came to faith. It is amazing to read how God is appearing to people in dreams and visions all over the world. God is bigger and more powerful than we can even imagine.

I have been reading through the Psalms lately and God has been showing me how much he desires our praises! There is something so beautiful about devoting time to just praising God because it takes the focus off of us and off of the nitty gritty day in and day out tasks and hardships of life. I may be going through a horrible time but if I just stop and PRAISE THE LORD, I am filled with more peace than if I were to beg him for peace. Think of how much we LOVE getting compliments from each other. When someone tells us you look beautiful, or I love your heart, or you are so good at encouraging...fill in the blank...it brightens our day! Our LORD is soooo much more deserving and worthy of being praised and adored! Listen to these Psalms...

WOW!!! If ever there was doubt in my mind that we are to Praise the LORD, it is gone after reading just TWO psalms. They are all filled with words of praise to our God! So beautiful! Praise the Lord! Amen!

About a week ago I was talking to Nancy about my garden. I was telling her that my garden is doing well, but it is interesting because I think that after you harvest the first fruits your garden will never look as good. I think things just grow better the first time around no matter how much you tend to them. I never knew this about a garden before. She said, "Thats why we are supposed to give our first fruits to God."
That little comment I have thought about SO much. Its so true. We are supposed to give God our first fruits. You can see in the picture, the first one of my garden looks amazing. It is green and lush and producing all kinds of fruit. In the second picture (which is my garden now) it has the remains of some of the first harvest and its kinda dead on the bottom and although it is still producing fruit, it is not like the first at all.
This is the same for our relationship with God. We are called to give Him the best of us, our first fruits. The Lord is refining my heart so much right now to show me that I am not doing this like I should be. I like to read my bible before I go to bed but a lot of times I fall asleep in the process. This is not giving God my best; the first fruits. I need to find the time of the day I am at my best, and come to the Lord with that heart. Whether it is in the morning, all day throughout the day, or not so late at night.
The thing is, I am still growing when I am not giving my first fruits. I am still producing fruit like the state my garden is now, but I am not flourishing the way I could be. I could be going deeper, and my heart could be flooded more, if I came to the Lord at my best. If we do, we look like that first picture of my garden before the Lord. We are beautiful, bright, full, attentive and ready to produce even more fruit through growth. God is totally showing me what my potential is and what our relationship could look like as I learn to obey His commandments more.
We are called to do this in everything we do. It was even revealed to me this is what the sabbath is. Sunday is supposed to be our first day of the week where we come to the Lord in rest, with an open heart, being prepared for the week. It is giving God our first fruits.
I pray that the Lord would also show you girls how to give your first fruits in your life. Whether it be with money, time, energy, etc. We are created to bring glory to the Lord and we need to think about this at all times. How can we be worshiping and serving our Lord better?
Lord, help us to come to you with our best and to sacrifice what we hold most dear and recognize that it was never ours to begin with. I ask that you would refine our hearts so that we would be motivated to do whatever it takes to give you the first fruits of all we are and do. We need you Father, and most of all we want you. Please invade Holy Spirit, form our hearts to need more of you. Let us be pleasing in your sight as your creation. In your precious Name, amen.

Recently when I was going through recovery from surgery my prayers became very redundant. They would always be along the lines of …
“God please help me, just this one time, please Lord help me get through this pain.”
A few hours later I would find myself praying the same prayer. I had to laugh, I was kidding myself to pray as if it was my last final prayer. Around day two I remember praying, “God I know I keep praying for you to help me just once, but I am going to need you again and again.”
As we read in Psalm 71, we can go to God continually. No matter how many times we call on the LORD He will always listen to our cries. I have the tendency to triage my problems. If I feel like there is a “big problem” I send out a mass prayer text. If I feel like it is a “small problem” I feel as if I can handle it on my own. I would never want to annoy God with my small request. The funny thing is that in comparison to God all of my “problems” are small.
If you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, encourage them to go to the LORD. If they say that they already have, tell them to go again and again and again. Tell them to wait at the feet of Jesus. Hold tight to the promise that we can go continually to the LORD and that He is our refuge.
Refuge- Noun: shelter or protection from danger or trouble. A place of shelter, protection or safety.
When I think of the word refuge the first thing I picture is battle or war. And sometimes in life we do feel as if we are being attacked from all sides. During these times remember that God is our refuge. When my life is falling down on all sides, I feel as if I need to be doing something tangible to fix my problems. Time and again, God lovingly shows me that my strength is found in the LORD, not myself.
The LORD is our Refuge, we can find peace in Him. The LORD is our Safety, we do not have to fear. The LORD is our Shelter from the storms of life. The LORD is our Protection from harm.
Prayer: “LORD please be our refuge, hear the cries of Your daughters and help us to speak of Your righteousness.”
God has literally been BLOWING my mind lately. I cant even put in words how my heart has been feeling and the things He has been revealing to me. The coolest thing about God is the more we get to know Him, the more we realized we havent tapped into any of His abounding greatness. I wanna go deeper, I want to be a part of things that I dont even know are possible at this time. Thats my prayer for me and for you girls.
With that said, I wanna tell you guys about something that changed the way I view this life and I think will change yours as well.
This week, the Lord has placed new friends in my life. I wasnt even asking either, how cool is that! lol. My friend Sharina, (who I blogged about last time) has a friend who she has been wanting me to meet for months now. Her name is Tiffany Berkowitz. Because God is perfect, she actually is kinda connected to our group because she went on the world race and became really great friends with Kimi Cantrell. Anyways, I got to meet her the other night and the Lord totally spoke so much wisdom into me through her obedience to be a vessel and share what the Lord is teaching her. She encouraged me like CRAZY and just really poured so much love and wisdom into me. Wanna be challenged? Spend a night talking to Tiffany, there is a woman who knows the Lord.
We shared stories about just having our mind on the Lord and how when we hear God calling we have to be willing to obey and ready to hear His voice. She shared that the Lord has taught her she always needs to have "kingdom eyes" to be able to see past what we would normally see as humans, but to refocus her thoughts and heart to see things through the eyes of God with an eternal perspective.
This term "Kingdom Eyes" just kills me. It is SO rad. I want kingdom eyes, every single day. Every second of every day. When you have kingdom eyes, you dont see the annoying person in the car in front of you that wont drive fast enough, or the pissed off person who cut you off, you see lost hurting souls who were made in the image of Christ, and who DESPERATELY need more of Jesus. When you have kingdom eyes, you drive along the freeway and dont just think about your day and the stressful to do list. Instead you see the mountains that the Lord created and the trees that are starting to change colors just at the tips; orange and red and yellow, just because that's how the Lord called them into motion and thats how they worship their Creator. If you dont have kingdom eyes, you miss this stuff.
I go about my life all the time not even worrying about the strangers around me. But what if I had kingdom eyes all the time and the Lord revealed to me how to be praying for these people or even just to pray for encounters for them with their Creator? Maybe I am supposed to be the Jesus they see. How cool would that be if we just had an eternal perspective all the time. Girls, the more I dig into the Word and go deeper with the Lord, the more I realize this is not our home and our flesh is so temporary. We have a calling here, and our vision has to see past this life. It cannot be consumed with ourselves and our worries of each day. Each day, we have an opportunity to share God's love and spread this life of joy with others. I encourage you to do that. Ask God to give you those opportunities to see life through His eyes, to have kingdom eyes. Ask Him, Lord how can we bring your Kingdom here on earth today?
Lord, I ask for Kingdom Eyes for me and each one of my girls. God we desire to see past what we know on the surface, from what the world has taught us, but to have an eternal perspective, one that will change the way we think of others and of you Lord. I desire Lord, to have my eyes set on you, and that each one of us would not only see the things you are revealing to us, but to respond quickly. We have an opportunity to be used by you Lord. Help us to grasp what an honor that is and how when you call, its crazy if we dont answer. Holy Spirit take away the fear that is cultivated in our hearts and give us boldness and freedom in the Spirit. As we see more clearly the power of your grace and what really matters, give us spirits of boldness to step out in faith and share the love that you have so graciously given to us. Lord, we know its because you have given us a gift that we know you at all, so I ask we would not be hoarders of this gift, but share the joy and truth that you have overflowed our hearts with. God we beg for Kingdom Eyes. We dont want to have clouded vision Lord, but desire to have a clear perspective of what you are doing all around and how we can be used. We love you and are desperate for you Sovereign God. In your precious Name, Amen.
I love you girls. May the Lord flood your vision with Kingdom Eyes today.

Let's pray for Ash Bear, she just had her tonsils taken out a few days ago and is in a lot of pain. She cannot take the pain meds b/c they are making her sick and she is also extremely nauseous. Please just pray for God to heal her whole body. Her Dr thinks taking her tonsils out may heal a lot of her other health problems. That is our exact prayer request, for a complete 100% healing! Please just pray for peaceful rest free from pain, for the hours in the day to pass quickly, for mental encouragement, for healing on her whole body, for the nausea and pain to go away. Ash Bear we all love you so much and it hurts us to see you in pain. Praying for a speedy recovery. Please let us know how we can help. Love Megs

I have a friend I met one random day at work who I just adore. It was totally God ordained. Her name is Sharina. (This is her :) ) If she would have gone to Vanguard she would have been one of our girls :) I absolutely adore her because of who she is and what she is about; being a follower of Christ, no matter where He leads her. She is one of those people that you instantly know that you are more than friends with, you are sisters in Christ and get to grow that friendship for eternity. We dont get to see each other often, but stay in touch through text and facebook and every time we talk she just pushes me more and more towards the cross. She challenges me by the way she lives. Its totally what I need. She gets Jesus, and the message He came to bring. More than that she shares it. She is a walking disciple and she is doing exactly what Jesus calls of His children.
Today I logged onto facebook and read this prayer that Sharina wrote. It was just so powerful I wanted to share it with you girls. :) I love you all and feel so blessed that the Lord allows us all to be sisters in Christ and grasp what true fellowship is, sharing in the understanding of the overwhelming goodness of the Holy Spirit. Praise God for His presence and that it floods our being with love and desperation for Him. I pray this encourages you girls the way it did me.

I am established in Him! My identity is that whose image I was created! I declare that I am Yours, Abba Father. I declare that I am Yours Christ Jesus my Savior! Resurrect my soul! It is my will that my flesh be put to death and that I may carry my cross all the days of my life. I know that You have left this earth, You have sent Your Holy Spirit to reign in my soul and guide my thoughts and to convict me of that which is no longer in me but so eagerly attaches itself to me in hopes of victory. It is a battle I can not see, but feel constantly tugging. Wanting every bit of me that yearns for You. I am desperate for Your power. I am desperate! That Your Holy Spirit may bring the fruits that were lacking and bear the fruits of peace, joy, love, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness so that I may bring glory and honor to Your name and be a living testimony of Your grace. Let me not claim a denomination that has been set forth by man, but be a follower of the way, the truth and the life that set me free when I first accepted you into my heart and life. Let my church, let my roots, let my house of the Lord be in Your Word, the bondship in the unity of Christ and not in any man made thing or public figure. Let my church be within me Lord and let I take it with me wherever I may go to the ends of the earth! Let me dwell and rest and rejuvenate of the days when I was radically transformed and made a new creation. Because my eyes were opened. O YES LORD! And my ears were opened and now I can see! Now I can hear! May I never forget! May I never cease to listen! May I never cease to see the things that are of You! Now I can not deny the miracle that you have worked in me by making this heart of stone into a heart of flesh. I can not deny even though my mind is at battle. I ask Adonai and I commend Your Spirit, I invite you to break my double mindedness that falsely manipulates the truth that you have set before me. The evil one that perverts my thoughts and dreams is not welcome where Your holiness is! Lord, with Your mighty and Holy Name put the evil one away from me. Remind him that he was cast down by You and I am Yours! I ask You to heal, to restore my past hurts, anger and pain. The plots that are around me set forth by others to remind me of my past, I rebuke them in Your Name Christ Jesus! They no longer have dominion over my life, over my thoughts or over my dreams. There is no place for them in the plans that You Lord have for me which are plans for good! I am married to You. My covenant is with You, Lord. Lord I am Your bride, You are my groom. You are my romance, my desire, the love of my life and for all eternity. I am made whole in You and You alone. No one, no thing, shall separate me from Your love. Your promises are eternal, they never falter. Lord forgive me for my faltering, for my lack of luster, and bring back the sparkle to my eye. I am a desert and I thirst for Your righteousness like a barren wasteland thirsts for water. Be my water Lord and fill me up till I overflow! I have seen the joy that has come from You Lord! I have seen and I can not forget! That is what I crave! Lord I ask for you to bring that light which is You back into my heart, my life, my eyes, my soul, my thoughts, my dreams, my actions! Allow the stillness of the night to not bring loneliness but rather beckon worship. Allow the break of dawn to not make moans of another day, but rejoice in the gift of life and what it brings. How many times I will say Your Name to those who have yet to hear. Lord, remove the fear and doubt from my mind. Lord, remove the lies of death. Speak Your life into mine! Lord, allow the storms that gust in full force against me to not blow me over but to build strength as I press against them. Lord, allow my enemies to know my love for them and break down their walls and cold hearts. Restore their pain Lord and let there be reconciliation. Let the grace I impart through you be a testimony to them! To my family, to my friends. Let Your love reign supreme over any carnal love. A love that casts out fear! A love that brings healing and power! A love that unites! A love that conquers sin! Have Your will be done. Have Your will be done in me so that I may be all that You made me to be. With quickness and swiftness I cry out to You in prayer and earnestly, not because I am worthy, but because You Lord are faithful! Hear my cries, answer my prayers! Fill me with song and the gift of Your never ending mercy to flow from my lips.
